Summer 2008 tours

All our tours in the Indian Himalaya are pretty much as adventurous and as low impact as possible. We hope to run all the trips with about 8 people, plus us. Jeep support will be minimal and we have our excellent Spitian and Ladakhi crew to help transport kit and rustle up delicious local delicacies.

Manali-Leh via Wari la (jeep-supported)

  • Dates: 20 July - 8 August 2008
  • Duration: 20 days

  • Price: £875

Often billed as the most beautiful overland journey on the planet, the road between Manali and Leh is a real classic, conquering five epic passes of up to 5,300m in altitude. As if this wasn't hard enough we've added in another two monster passes en route, one of which is supposedly the highest in the world - Khardung-la. Ringed by mountains and monasteries, the ancient capital of Leh makes an impressive finale, packed with truly unforgettable scenery every kilometre of the way - including detours into remote Pattan Valley and off the Morei Plains. Want to hit all the big passes in one go? Then this is the trip for you. Details

Spiti and Lahaul Epic: September 3rd to September 17th (jeep-supported)

  • Dates: 9 August - 24 August 2008
  • Duration: 16 days

  • Price: £795

Fully Mtb in vibe, our tour around lesser-travelled Spiti Valley hones in on the very finest tracks and trails this stunning region has to offer. Explore high altitude pastures, overnight in remote Spitian villages, swim in pristine Chandra Tal lake, visit millenia old monasteries - and unearth some truly superb singletrack along the way. The road can be rough going – expect ferocious climbs and a few hike’n’bikes – but we promise it’s more than worth it. Details
